PRIVACY NOTICE

This Privacy Notice explains how SEBO America, LLC ("SEBO," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use this website, create an account, place an order, request support or warranty service, submit a dealer application, or otherwise interact with us. It does not govern a third party's website or service that has its own privacy notice.

Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with SEBO and may include:

  • Contact and account information, such as your name, company, billing and shipping addresses, email address, telephone number, account identifier, and login credentials.
  • Order and commercial information, such as your cart, products, prices, discounts, order and payment status, shipping method, tax, returns, warranty records, product serial numbers, and customer-service history.
  • Payment information. The payment-card form is provided by Stripe. SEBO sends Stripe the transaction amount, shipping and contact information, and order identifiers, and receives payment status and processor identifiers. Our application is not designed to store full payment-card numbers or security codes.
  • Dealer-application and business information, such as business and contact details, ownership and location information, marketplace identifiers, trade or credit references, tax-exemption information, and documents you submit.
  • Device, network, and website activity, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, site interactions, consent choices, cookie or analytics identifiers, and security or diagnostic information. We may retain the IP address associated with an order for security and fraud prevention.
  • Location-related information, including billing and shipping addresses and an address or ZIP code you submit to find a dealer. When Google Maps is enabled on the site and you use the dealer locator, the search is sent to Google Maps to identify matching locations. We do not request your device's precise GPS location.
  • Communications and submissions, including messages, requests, attachments, and other information you choose to provide.

We collect information directly from you; automatically from your browser or device; from your account, dealer, or business relationship with us; and from service providers that help us process payments, tax, shipping, security, communications, and website use.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
  • Create and administer accounts and authenticate users;
  • Process payments, calculate tax, fulfill and ship orders, and handle returns;
  • Provide customer service, repairs, warranties, and product support;
  • Review dealer applications and manage dealer and business relationships;
  • Communicate about transactions, requests, services, and policy changes;
  • Send promotional emails when you have opted in and record and honor your email preference;
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and unlawful activity;
  • Maintain business, tax, accounting, warranty, and legal records; and
  • Measure site use, conduct advertising measurement, and provide third-party media when those services are enabled under the website tracking configuration described below.

How we disclose information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers that support hosting, storage, content delivery, email, customer service, security, fraud prevention, tax calculation, payment processing, order management, shipping, fulfillment, and professional services;
  • Payment, tax, and shipping providers, including Stripe, as needed to complete and service a transaction;
  • Analytics, advertising-measurement, and media providers when those services are enabled under the website tracking configuration described below, including Google services and Hotjar when those services are configured through Google Tag Manager. Site-experience tools such as Hotjar can provide heatmaps or session replays based on clicks, scrolling, navigation, and similar interactions. We mark account, checkout, order, and dealer-application pages to suppress their page content from session-replay capture;
  • Video and mapping providers, including YouTube, Vimeo, and Google Maps, when those services are enabled and you visit or use a page containing them;
  • Affiliates, authorized dealers, and business partners when needed to provide a service or respond to your request;
  • Government authorities, courts, advisers, and other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, users, or the public; and
  • A successor or transaction participant in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.

How the categories connect to these uses and disclosures:

  • Contact, account, and communications information is used for accounts, orders, support, warranty service, dealer relationships, and communications, and is disclosed as needed to hosting, email, payment, tax, shipping, support, authorized-dealer, and professional-service providers.
  • Order, commercial, and payment information is used for payment, tax, fulfillment, returns, warranties, accounting, and fraud prevention, and is disclosed as needed to payment, tax, shipping, fulfillment, and order-management providers. When ecommerce measurement is enabled, product and transaction measurement fields may also be sent to measurement providers.
  • Dealer-application information is used to evaluate and administer the application and is disclosed to hosting, storage, email, form-security, and professional-service providers involved in that process.
  • Device, network, website-activity, and dealer-locator information is used for security and site operation and, when those services are enabled, for analytics, advertising measurement, site-experience tools, videos, maps, and fonts. This is the category most likely to be disclosed in a way some laws treat as sale, sharing, or targeted advertising.

With Analytics enabled by itself, SEBO sends limited measurements of shopping and checkout progress and account registrations, such as viewing or selecting an item, adding or removing a generic item from the cart, viewing the cart, beginning checkout, reaching the shipping or payment step, completing a purchase, or completing an account registration. The limited event fields contain the event type; ecommerce events also contain a generic item token, and a completed-purchase measurement contains a one-way transaction identifier. Those limited fields do not include prices, totals, shipping or tax amounts, shipping choices, actual products, names, email addresses, telephone numbers, street addresses, account IDs, or raw order numbers. With Marketing & media enabled, detailed ecommerce measurement may include fields such as SKU, product name or category, price, quantity, totals, shipping, tax, and the same one-way transaction identifier. Google Analytics and providers loaded through Google Tag Manager may separately collect browser, device, and page-activity information under the website tracking configuration and provider practices described in this notice.

For the current cookie and similar-technology inventory, including categories, providers, purposes, and typical expiration periods, see our Cookie Policy.

We use cookies, browser storage, pixels, tags, and similar technologies. Optional technologies start in a denied state. The choices offered on this site are:

  • Essential — always active. These technologies maintain the site, session, and cart; protect forms; support authentication, payments, and fraud prevention; and remember privacy choices. They include application session and form-protection technologies and the first-party sebo_cookie_consent cookie. They cannot be disabled through our privacy tool. Blocking them in your browser may prevent core site functions from working.
  • Analytics — optional. This choice allows Google Analytics to help us understand visits and site use, measure progress through shopping and checkout, count account registrations, and count completed purchases using the limited event records described above. Our analytics-only configuration disables Google advertising signals and ad-personalization signals. Google may still receive information such as IP address, browser or device details, page path, referring information, an analytics identifier, and, for completed purchases, the one-way purchase identifier.
  • Marketing & media — optional and includes Analytics. This choice allows Google Tag Manager and tags configured through it, detailed ecommerce and advertising measurement, Google-hosted fonts, and third-party content such as YouTube, Vimeo, and Google Maps. These providers may receive IP address, browser or device details, referring information, page and interaction activity, and product or transaction measurement information. They may set their own cookies or browser storage. When Marketing & media is enabled, some providers may collect information about your activity over time and across websites or online services, subject to their own privacy notices.

Your selection is saved in sebo_cookie_consent for up to 180 days and applies only to that browser and device. Clearing cookies, using another browser or device, or a material consent-policy update may cause us to ask again. Use at any time to review or change your selection. When you withdraw a choice, we stop loading the corresponding services and attempt to clear recognized optional first-party cookies and storage. You may also need to use your browser controls to remove data set directly by a third party.

Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising: Marketing & media remains off for that browser. You may still choose Analytics separately. Because there is not a uniform standard for legacy "Do Not Track" signals, we do not respond to them separately from the controls and GPC process described here.

Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising

SEBO does not sell customer lists or personal information for money. Some state laws define "sale" or "sharing" more broadly. Disclosure of online identifiers and activity to advertising or measurement providers may be considered a sale, sharing, or processing for targeted advertising under those laws. You can opt out by choosing Essential only, turning off Marketing & media in , or enabling GPC.

Promotional email choices

Promotional-email preferences are separate from the website tracking configuration above. Registered users can change the Email Opt-In setting in their account, and signed-in customers can opt out while checking out. You may also contact us using the details below to ask us to update your preference. Opting out of promotional emails does not stop transactional messages such as order confirmations and shipping updates.

Data retention

Retention periods vary based on the type of information, why it was collected, the sensitivity and risk involved, and applicable legal requirements. Relevant purposes include providing transactions and services, maintaining accounts and warranties, meeting tax, accounting, recordkeeping, and legal obligations, resolving disputes, and preventing fraud or abuse.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to confirm whether we process your personal information; access, correct, or delete it; receive a portable copy; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; withdraw consent; and appeal a denial of a request. You also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising an applicable right.

Submit a request by emailing info@sebo.us with the subject "Privacy Request," or call 800-334-6614. Describe the right you wish to exercise and the information or account involved. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. An authorized agent may use the same channels; we may request proof of authorization and, where permitted, direct verification from you. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing the same address with the subject "Privacy Appeal." We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a unique password and contact us if you believe your account or interaction with SEBO is no longer secure.

Children's privacy

This general-audience retail website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.

Third-party services and links

Third parties process information under their own terms and privacy notices. Relevant notices include those for Stripe, Google, Hotjar, Vimeo, and Cloudflare. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites you visit.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as our services, vendors, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised notice here and change the "Last updated" date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request a new privacy choice.
